10 Ways You Lose Your Soul to the Devil

“We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell.”
W
ell, not every day does the Devil take centre stage as the topic of discourse. Though we curse and rebuke him on per-second basis, but how well have we come to understand how he operates in entangling us in a fatal web of no spiritual return? We say we love God and will keep his will, but do we not know that by keeping certain actions and habits we open up ourselves to evil machinations, and make it impossible to completely serve God?

To help you understand how you’ve been ensnaring your soul to the Devil on daily basis, here are 10 ways you lose your soul to the devil, and make your eternal soul his own.

1.      You cheat your neighbour at will. Whether it’s in relationships or in economic or political term, cheating is a form of darkness that ensnares your soul and keeps you courting evil into your life.

2.      You lie as a habit. When lying has become a habit of yours, you’re not very far away from the Devil’s Lyre.

3.      You sell your body for material gains. Well, before you start pointing your hypocritical index finger at prostitutes, check your pictures on Facebook, twitter and Instagram first. Money is not the only criteria. When you advertise your private parts for attending benefits, you’re playing in the same territory as courtesans.

4.      You defile the altar of the Lord. Religious hypocrites, this is for you, especially. When you violate the sanctity and chastity of the Lord’s holy presence with your double lives (preach one thing on the altar, then do another thing by the corner), you are dangerously losing your soul to eternal perdition.

5.      You get drunk on autopilot. Well, drinking in itself isn’t bad. But getting drunk and losing all sense of appropriateness – there lies the trouble. Three things make a man lose his senses – wealth, women and wine. I’d fear wine the most if I were you; at least a woman has a heart that can love you. I doubt if wine can boast of same humanity.

6.      You can’t seem to have enough sex. Now, sex too, in its own right, is a wonderful thing (I repeat, in its own right). It can be medicinal and can improve your general wellbeing – both physically and psychologically. But when you seek sex out for reasons other than as a mutual covenant between a couple (you and your beloved partner), you’re treading not in the Lion’s den, but the Devil’s. Sex should never be random. It’s a bond builder, so treat it as such. And trust me; you don’t want to be building bonds with all manner of creatures you meet on the streets!

7.      You hate and preach hate and allow hate to fester. Truth is; hate is the primary weapon of the enemy. It’s the devil’s one weapon of destroying the world without lifting a finger. He just sows the seed, steps aside, and then watches the whole world burn – me and you the instruments. Stop the hate today or seal your fate anyway.

8.      You find it difficult to forgive. Forgiveness is the greatest gift of God to man, next to Love. When you find it difficult to forgive, you lose your soul cheaply to the devil. No matter the gravity of the crime, learn to forgive. Losing your soul on the grounds of lack of forgiveness is the greatest injustice you can do to yourself – and you should be jailed for life for that single crime alone.

9.      Anger and jealousy. Anger can stem from lack of forgiveness. It has the capacity to influence one to maim and to kill. So too is the emotions of jealousy. To allow these primitive emotions linger in your heart is to invite legions of demons to occupy your soul and make it their headquarters.

10.  Pride. The father of them all. As primitive as the beginning of all things. This has been described as the chief crime of Satan himself. It destroys every common sense and humility in you, leaving you victim of your own decisions and grandiosity. It is the foundation from which all other evil spring. It is the fastest way to lose your soul to the devil. For pride keeps you from true repentance. And without true repentance, you are lost!
